Rich May Client CurrentChoice.com Opens Operations in Pittsburgh

Rich May client CurrentChoice.com announced on January 17, 2012 its launch of service offerings. Its initial offering of services will be in the Pittsburgh area. A Rich May team led by Eric J. Krathwohl assisted CurrentChoice.com with licensing and other legal issues throughout the expansion process.

CurrentChoice.com is a free online marketplace which provides a unique and impartial way for residents to easily evaluate offers from a variety of competitive electricity suppliers and to choose the correct option for their needs and budgets. The site allows consumers to directly compare the energy rates of different suppliers, as well as choose an energy provider, track their energy usage, and gather information about energy deregulation and energy efficiency.

More than 1.2 million Pennsylvania residents have switched energy providers since the state’s Electric Choice Act lifted rate caps in the Duquesne Light service area on Jan. 1, 2011. Still, CurrentChoice.com co-founders Alan Lehmann and Doug Luckerman found that understanding the products and benefits offered by each of the different companies could be confusing and specifically designed CurrentChoice.com to make the selection process more intuitive.

“CurrentChoice.com makes it easy to get the benefits that Pennsylvania's Electric Choice Act provides to homeowners,” said Lehmann. “We've taken the concept of competition among electricity suppliers and harnessed that power to benefit people with a process that is secure, reliable, easy to use, and specifically designed to help save money.”

"CurrentChoice.com allows families and homeowners to make easy apples-to-apples comparisons between suppliers," said Luckerman. "Choosing the electricity supplier that is right for your individual needs is so easy that it will take only a few online clicks to complete the switch."

CurrentChoice.com is now available to almost 600,000 customers in western Pennsylvania, and some of the most trusted names in the energy supply business have signed on with the site. These include American Power Partners LLC, TriEagle Energy and North American Power. Lehmann and Luckerman expect new suppliers to be added to the site in the upcoming weeks.
